The City of Mission Viejo is one of the largest Master Planned communities in the United States. Located within the Saddleback Valley of Southern Orange County, the city is also one of the safest places in the US to live in, based on FBI crime statistics.
The community started development in the 1960s and was completely developed by the early 1980s. Mission Viejo is a suburban residential community, although some large employers also call this city home.
Mission Viejo homes are almost entirely of the Spanish mission style, with stucco walls and Spanish barrel tile roofs. The city is renowned for its tree lines streets, earning it recognition of the National Arbor Day Foundation.
Within the larger Master planned community, exists Lake Mission Viejo, a man made 125 acre lake. Lake Mission Viejo and the related associations located within the community have access to the lake and its recreation amenities. Amenities include boating, fishing, swimming, beaches and other water sports.
The lake has a public shopping and dining area located at Marguerite Parkway & Vista Del Lago located on the shore of the lake with excellent vistas.
